Southern New Hampshire Health is leading a local effort to support a devastated hospital community in Humacao Puerto Rico, where Hurricane Maria made landfall on Sept 20, 2017. The 5-story facility lost almost everything when the roof was torn-off during the storm.

Ryder Hospital is using generators and tents to provide medical and surgical care to patients from this community of 58,000. From surgical equipment, to the most basic medical supplies needed for cancer and cardiac care, obstetrics, and pediatric care, Ryder Hospital needs our help.

Our Campaign

As Southern NH Health collects essential medical supplies, our organization is seeking donations from our community, and will match contributions up to $25,000. All funds will go directly to support Ryder Hospital.

In mid-December, SNHH will send a group of clinical leaders to deliver supplies and tour the facility to identify how best to support the hospital, patients and employees.

Please check back as this site will be updated in the coming weeks and months to share:

  • Personal stories of employees and patients

  • Photos of rebuilding from devastation

  • Success of fundraising efforts to date

  • Reports on supplies collected and donated by SNHH

  • Acknowledgement of those who have contributed

  • Items to be collected for members of the Ryder Hospital community who lost their homes
